East Row Yard Sale

Mark your calendars for Saturday, July 9, 9 am-3 pm, rain or shine, for our annual East Row Yard Sale! This is a great way to clean out closets, kitchen cabinets, nooks and crannies, and basement stockpiles. We make it easy to participate.  The East Row Historic Foundation does all the legwork including coordination, advertising and signage -- plus pays all fees for participating East Row residents. All you have to do is take your items outside and meet the buyers. Signage is out. Check out our official online map.. To register as a participant in the sale, just send your name and address to me, Paula Brandon, pabrand1@yahoo.com. If you've already signed up, keep me updated with details and photos of want you want me to promote on the map and in our publicity.

And if you’re planning to shop ‘til you drop at this year’s yard sale, we can’t wait to see you! You’ll find sales on every street, with multi-family sales, bake sales, furniture, clothing, kids’ toys, holiday décor, yard tools, and more.

In addition to the yard sales -- bake sales, arts & crafts and lemonade stands are always a hit! And back by popular demand this year is our donation dumpster!

Our donation dumpster will be available during the yard sale, July 9, approximately 10 am - 5 pm. The bright red Junk King dumpster will be located in the parking lot at 338 E 9th Street (the church across from Overton St). Bring your unwanted, reusable items to donate in the dumpster. This is a great way to get rid of unsold items after the yard sale, or to donate unwanted items if you are not participating in the yard sale. Junk King is supplying the dumpster and will sort and donate the items to the various charities they work with. If an item is in unusable condition, they will properly recycle it if possible. Please make sure items are clean and properly boxed/bagged (e.g., glassware, plates, etc.) to keep the items from being damaged during transition to the sorting facility. This initiative was a huge success last year. We collected 1260 pounds of items that were donated to local charities. A large number of items also went directly to immigrant families in need. A huge thanks to the East Row Historic Foundation for sponsoring this initiative! Also, thank you to Mike Smith for providing the location for the dumpster! Send questions to Tiffany at Duskk37@yahoo.com.
